Characteristics from organisms in this phylum consists of tissue levels for the organisms, the epidermus alone contains epithelio-muscular cells, sensory cells, nerve cells, cnidocytes, and gland cells. The endoderm is composed of inner embryological tissues which give rise to the gastrodermis which functions in adult organisms to digest. Additionally the gastrodermis also contains muscle cells, nerve cells, gland cells, cnidocytes, and reproductive cells.
